
About Miho Ryu
Biography

Miho Ryu is a New York based Dancer, Choreographer, and Teaching Artist, originally from Tokyo, Japan. She holds BA in Drama from Waseda University and received Best Dance Choreography Award from Oniros Film Awards® in 2018. Miho has choreographed and performed more than 100 works including of live performances, films, music videos, and interactive installations, across the continents: Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and the US. After 20 years of professional experience based in Japan, she moved back to New York in 2024, the land where she studied dance from 1999-2004 and where she first encountered contemporary dance. Her work has been presented at Recess in Chez Bushwick, At Capacity /AOCC at BAX, Time Capsule Project in Chain Theatre, Crossing Boundaries in Dixon place, and throughout in NYC. She is currently teaching contemporary class at Peridance Center and Steps on Broadway.

Classes and Workshops
To bring out the unique artistic qualities of each individual,
while at the same time giving them the right advice at the right time to train their technique and improve their ability to express themselves.
With this in mind, teaching artist Miho Ryu has continued to work across the world for more than 20 years. The class and workshop time can be considered an art piece created by Miho herself. The classes and workshops are designed to allow the dancers to fully exude the quality of energy and enjoy dancing from their hearts as expressionists.
